The Sydney Swans finish unbeaten on 205 after Day 1 at the SCG

With The Ashes raging on, the Swans produced a fine display of Bazball on a turning SCG pitch to finish the day on 205 not out, in an innings that featured 31 6s and 19 singles, the first double century by an AFL team in 12 years, and they backed it up by bowling out a pathetic West Coast top order for a meagre 34, which means the Eagles will have to bat again tomorrow to avoid an innings defeat….

Wait a minute, that wasn’t cricket, that was a footy game!

Good lord, the Eagles have now sunk to a depth that not even a billionaire’s submarine can reach.

Anyway, what a score, and I haven’t seen an unbeaten double century that unbelievable since….

Well, the great Australian top order batsman Jason Gillespie!
