The Giz has been racing street circuits in V8 Supercars for 16 years, and has 3 championships + 2 Bathurst victories to prove he chuck a ton-and-a-half beast around a tight concrete canyon.

NASCAR drivers haven’t raced on street circuits until this weekend in the Windy City, the rain bucketed down, Gizzy got the blood in the nostrils, pulled a blinder and became the first driver to win their debut NASCAR Cup race since 1963.

I did like it that Gizzy commented that at one stage during the race, he thought the car had a problem…

It turned out the car was fine, and the problem was he couldn’t understand imperial measurements.
