During the 2022 AFL Draft, Hawthorn traded their 2023 Third Round pick, which became Pick 47, to the Sydney Swans as part of a live trade (Along with 2022’s Pick 27 and a 2023 Second Rounder) when the Hawks moved up to pick Josh Weddle with Pick 18.

In 2023, Sydney traded Pick 46 to Melbourne as part of the Brodie Grundy deal, which became Pick 47 after St Kilda’s free agency compensation for Jade Gresham kicked in.

Melbourne then traded Pick 47 to the Brisbane Lions in a straight swap for Tom Fullarton….

And completing this loop, Brisbane traded Pick 47 back to Hawthorn, as part of the Jack Gunston/Brandon Ryan trade.
