7/91 chasing 292, not even reaching 1% on the old win probability.
Given a reprieve thanks to DRS.
Got dropped twice more.
Full body cramps and in a worse state than Mick Foley during Hell in a Cell 1998.
And the end result was the greatest white ball innings I have ever seen by an Australian batsman, and it was like what Michael Bevan used to do, except it was Michael Bevan times 400…. it also gave us the funniest ODI scorecard you’ll ever see for a team that nearly made 300:

And the records tumbled:
The first Australian man to score a double century in ODI cricket, surpassing Shane Watson’s old national record of 185 not out against Bangladesh in 2011 – Appropriately, Watson was at the ground on Tuesday night.
Funnily enough, the only Australian woman to score an ODI double century is former captain Belinda Clark, who scored 229 not out in Mumbai during the 1997 Women’s World Cup.
The first player in history to score a double century in the second innings of an ODI match – Fakhar Zaman (The former record holder) scored 193 in a losing cause for Pakistan against South Africa in 2021.
The first non-opening batsman to score a double century in ODI cricket – The other 7 players to achieve the feat are all openers.
The highest score by a non-opening batter in ODI cricket, surpassing the 194 by Zimbabwe’s Charles Coventry against Bangladesh in 2009, and the highest score by a player batting at No.6 in an ODI match, surpassing Kapil Dev’s famous 175 against Zimbabwe in 1983 when India were 5-17.
The second-fastest double century in ODI history (128 balls), just behind Ishan Kushan’s record of 126 balls against Bangladesh last year.
Among other records:
Australia set the record for the most runs after the fall of the 7th wicket in an ODI innings – 202.
Maxwell & Pat Cummins set the record for the greatest 8th wicket partnership in Men’s ODI Cricket at 202, obliterating the old record of 138 by Andrew Hall and Justin Kemp for South Africa against India in 2006.
Maxwell and Cummins’ last 2 partnerships have been 103 off 44 balls against the Netherlands, and 202 off 170 against Afghanistan.
Cummins’ contribution has been a combined 20 off 76 balls.
And, it’s the second-greatest 201 not out by an Australian player this century…
Because Jason Gillespie exists.
