Cricket Australia still don’t give a rats about Perth fans

As if recent Test matches weren’t enough, this is how the best-attended fan base in the BBL cops it for one day only:

Point Number 1:

They decided to schedule a Perth Scorchers home game at 1:15pm.

That should be it on its lonesome, because in the history of the Big Bash League up until this season, THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A PERTH SCORCHERS BIG BASH HOME GAME AT 1:15PM IN THE AFTERNOON.

And you easily guess why, because it won’t rate on TV with the 3-hour gap (A 4:15 start on the East Coast), you’ll get substantially fewer people through the gate in Perth (Who are the best attended BBL team by a street) because families are typically off playing their own sport at that time of day…

Also, we won’t have Brad Hogg available to play bowls for us at Manning because he’s got to commentate the match.

Further to the point, it’s the rematch of the Final against the Brisbane Heat – You could very easily have drawn 40,000 fans through the gate at Optus if it had been scheduled for 4:15, with chances becoming even better with a 6:20pm start but no, let’s have some shithouse Melbourne Derby at Marvel following the match to occupy the Channel 7 Saturday slot.

What a bunch of numbskulls.

Point Number 2:

This is the only game of the Big Bash season scheduled for earlier than 3pm local time.

And you schedule it for Perth.

Dickheads.

Point Number 3:

IT IS FORECAST FOR 41 DEGREES IN PERTH ON SATURDAY.

WHAT GREAT TIMING, HEY FELLAS.

This also renders my part about Brad Hogg being unavailable for Manning to be invalid, because Bowls WA are going to abandon all Metro Pennants matches for the day.

Actually, that also makes it fitting that the match-up will be the HEAT against the SCORCHERS.
