Today we celebrate a momentous occasion in Australian history

It is exactly 35 years since Allan Border, bowling his shitty left arm orthodox spin, took 7/46 against the mighty West Indies at the SCG.

It remains the best bowling figures by an Australian captain in the last 60 years, and second-best all-time behind Ian Johnson’s 7-44 against the West Indies at Georgetown in 1955.

So there’s a note for Pat Cummins – Lift your game, son.
