No wonder the Dragons lost to the Sharks… it was the Dargons that turned up, according to their 150th game tribute to ‘Jock’ Bird

Although based on the amount of rain Sydney received on Sunday, and the state of the field before the game, it goes to show you should never underestimate a Shark when he is in trouble.
Especially when, he is underwater.
Alright, now to skip the bullshit about Phil Gould railing against the NRL and David Fifita’s signature, and look at the pleasantness of Round 10, and amazing to think we’ve already reached double figures on the Rounds this year:
The Redcliffe Dolphins get an actual home game in Redcliffe in the Channel 9 Thursday slot, this time hosting a Manly team who are probably still shell shocked that they blew a 20-0 and lost against Canberra… by sheer coincidence, the Raiders have the bye this week.
The Penrith Panthers host Canterbury in the Cameron Ciraldo Cup, and as we discovered thanks to the ABC’s bothans, this is the deepest into a season in which the Bulldogs have been in the Top 8 since 2017, which should tell you how rancid they’ve been since Des Hasler front ended all those contracts.
The Eels and Broncos meet in the Channel 9 Friday night slot, and this game looked good when the fixture came out over the summer, only for the Eels to lose a couple of key players and put Brad Arthur up the creek, while the Broncos have just about had their backs broken now that Adam Reynolds is injured and replaced by Josh Rogers, a player so generic he doesn’t even have a photo on NRL.com.
Rugby league returns to the country music capital of Tamworth as the Wests Tigers host Newcastle at Scully Park on Saturday afternoon, although the Tamworth locals would rather see Troy Cassar-Daley play than the Tigers play.
The Charity Shield match-up has St George-Illawarra, aka the Dargons, playing South Sydney at Jubilee, and it should tell you a fair bit about Souths’ plight that the ‘Dargons’ are strong favourites for this one… probably because the Dragons aren’t playing
The match-up of the round, and just about the season, has 2nd placed Melbourne Storm hosting ladder leaders Cronulla at AAMI Park, with the winner guaranteed top spot at the conclusion of Round 10… although if it’s a draw then Cronulla will stay on top.
The Sydney Roosters host the free-falling Warriors at the SFS on Sunday afternoon, and goodness me haven’t the Warriors fallen to excrement this year… so many winnable games gone to waste, and at this point even Jesus himself couldn’t save them, let alone Shaun Johnson.
The last game of the Round in the Channel 9 slot sees yet another Queensland Derby as the Titans host the Cowboys on the Gold Coast, and if the Titans play anywhere close to the level that they did against the Melbourne Storm last week then they should just about win this game, which would be their first win in Australia since the end of last season.
Alright, now for the Succinct Tips for Round 10, here we go…

Round 9 score = 4/8
Running score after Round 9 = 42/72 (58.3%)
Lock of the Week

Amazing, I put the Bulldogs in as the Lock for one week in history and they don’t disappoint anybody!
Goes to show there’s hope for us all.
Alright, the Lock this week…
The Little Red Roosters to defeat the Warriors on Sunday, to the sounds of the Rolling Stones!
