JT’s Succinct NRL Tips: Round 24, 2023

Once upon a time, not even 12 months ago, this used to be the penultimate weekend of the home & away season…

Now there’s 3 damn weekends to go.

Thanks, Redcliffe.

Anyway, better make this one quick because I’ve got places to go and people to see:

We start with Manly against Penrith at Brookvale (touch wood), the Sharks kick off the Wade Graham retirement tour against the Titans at Shark Park, the Broncos host the Eels in the last game at the Gabba for the foreseeable future, the ailing Rabbitohs take a trek up to Cairns to host the Dragons, Wests Tigers make a trek across the ditch to play a home game against the Warriors in Hamilton (The home stadium of the Waikato Chiefs), the Roosters return to Allianz to host the Dolphins in a rematch of Redcliffe’s inaugural NRL game, the Storm host the Raiders at AAMI Park, which will either be a Storm belting or a narrow Raiders win with no inbetween, and the charging Knights host the Bulldogs in a very winnable game in Newcastle.

Now, after scoring me a 7/8 last week, it’s time for the random tip generator to do its thing, here we go…

Round 23 score = 7/8, Progress Score = 109/172 (63.3%)

Round 24 =

Riveting.

Round 24 Lock of the Week

Because when you’re right 52% of the time, you’re wrong 48% of the time!

Another fish swimming in my barrel received a bullet to the head, and that fish was probably located in Townsville, because the Broncos threw the Cowboys in their vain attempt to ride the wild horses on Saturday afternoon, but Kevvy was just too smart for them.

Now, time to cross the ditch and shoot another fish in a barrel, because the Wests Tigers, hailing from the cultural melting pot that is Campbelltown, are playing the mighty NEW ZEALAND Warriors in Hamilton, which the last time I checked is on the North Island of New Zealand, and was not named after Lewis Hamilton…

Hang on, an Australian team in the Tigers playing a home game against NEW ZEALAND, in NEW ZEALAND?

HOW BIZZARE!

The Warriors in the Slice of Heaven, my Lock of the Week.
