The Jack Attack bowlers of Spring 2020

So after months of planning and being put on the backburner at Christmastime, myself and Half Price backed up a huge Wednesday of Manning success in the Tuesday Pennants finals and the last night of Manning Jack Attack by having the great pleasure of being invited on Bowls Australia’s Right Line podcast (hosted by Val Febbo) to talk about various subjects related to the Manning Memorial Bowling Club and Manning Jack Attack!

My only regret is that they’ll never release the footage of our interview

Some of the topics we covered in a 10 minute window:

How the pair of us got involved at Manning (Migrating over the fence from the Manning Tennis Club), how long we’ve been at Manning and our current involvement in the club (Pricey as a selector, myself with Chase The Ace and playing 1 White & Premier League)

How Manning Jack Attack started up (The involvement of Matty & Kate Mitchell in getting it started up in 2015/16, although Pricey didn’t quite mention Kate by name…)

The impact of Jack Attack on the club, and why has Jack Attack proven such a success at Manning after 8 years in operation.

Some individual Jack Attack success stories from the club, and somehow my name got mentioned during Pricey’s answer, as did Helen Lamb’s name (As we’ve both graduated from Jack Attack to play in Premier League.)

And the last question Val asked us was regarding Kristina Krstic, and how proud are we as Manning members to see what Krissy has achieved at state, national and international level, and after a convoluted answer, I mentioned the fact that when you walk through the front entrance of Manning Memorial, in the foyer there’s a photo of Kristina with her Commonwealth Games Gold Medal from 2022 hanging over the trophy cabinet… That should tell you the regard we hold Krissy’s achievements in.

Pricey also makes a great comment about Krissy’s loyalty to Manning after all these years, which I felt is very pertinent to our personal involvement in Jack Attack:

“You don’t forget where you came from.”

That’s damn right.
