October 10, 2024 – Harry Brook, the Sultan of Multan, hits 317 against Pakistan

The last Englishman to score a Test match triple century prior to Brook was Graham Gooch’s epic 333 against India at Lord’s in 1990, which Gooch followed up with 123 to have a record Test total of 456 runs:

And the last Englishman to score a Test triple century outside of England was Andy Sandham in a timeless Test against the West Indies in 1930, when he hit 325 and became the first player in cricketing history to score a Test match triple century, which was so long ago that Jamaica was still British sovereignty.
