While perusing through the internet looking for obscure words, I noticed the esteemed lexicographers at Merriam-Webster had updated their definitions for ‘Domination’ late on Sunday night, because the folks at the Oxford English Dictionary were a bit too inflexible:

Domination

1: Supremacy or preeminence over another

2: Exercise of mastery or ruling power

3: Exercise of preponderant, governing, or controlling influence

4. Jakara Anthony in the Women’s Moguls at the 2022 Winter Olympics

And thus, someone born in tropical Cairns won a Gold Medal in a sport involving the mere presence of snow, ending Australia’s 12 year Gold Medal drought at the Winter Olympics.

It’s a good thing Jakara’s family moved to below freezing Barwon Heads.
