Based on a series of plausible events in a regional Victorian town

It’s hard to believe we’ve now reached mid-September, but it is the truth and nothing but the truth, and my main highlight for this coming weekend is that Peter V’Landys has once again stolen a race name from Seinfeld…
THE 7 STAKES.
Could’ve just called it the Mug Costanza Stakes.
So while Craig Williams recovers from getting his marching orders for butchering Giga Kick last week at Moonee Valley, the
main highlight of the weekend is the Group 1 Makybe Diva Stakes at Flemington, and it does seem a bit contradictory to have a race named after the Diva over 1600m, considering the only time the Diva won over the mile was her maiden win at Wangaratta as a 4-year-old.
Other notable races include the Group races at Randwick, among them the Kingston Town Stakes, the Bill Ritchie Handicap, The Tea Rose Stakes and The Shorts, the Group races at Flemington include the Let’s Elope Stakes and the Bobbie Lewis Quality up the straight, and there’s some other stuff like the Bowraville Cup that I couldn’t give a rats about.
So it’s on to Crazy Craig, and it was a strange old time last weekend, because all three of his picks ran well, but all he wound up with was a pair of 4ths and a $1.80 winner…
Still, 1 win is better than none, and that’s what you get with a Good Luck Charm!
P(r)ick No.1: Legacies (No.15, Barrier 7) in Race 5 at Flemington (MR5), 2:30pm AEST
1400m Listed Exford Plate
Trainers: Peter Moody & Katherine Coleman, Jockey: Jamie Kah, 56kg
Hello hello everyone it’s Craaaaaazy Craig, TBFB, Scratchie King of Bairnsdale, and what a whelming week I’ve had, as that $1.80 win for Howgoodareyou ensured I paid for 6 scratchies!
How crazy is that!
Anyway, that was last week and this is the now, and I best start at headquarters, where I’ve seen a darn fine horse named after a word I know nothing about…
Legacies!
The only legacies I’ll be leaving in Bairnsdale are a trail of scattered lottery tickets and shattered dreams!
So that said, 2nd 1st Up in the McNeil at Caulfield, goes up from 1200 to 1400m….
Start buying your scratchies now!
P(r)ick No.2: Fangirl (No.9, Barrier 10) in Race 7 at Randwick (SR7), 3:25pm AEST
1600m WFA The 7 Stakes

You know who most dislikes the name The 7 Stakes?
Kenny Callander.

“Yes Tappy, the old tongue’s starting to bleed profusely after getting through the runners for the Sheven Stakes!”
P(r)ick No.3: Foxy Frida (No.5, Barrier 4) E/W in the Let’s Elope Stakes at Flemington (MR8), 4:20pm AEST
1400m Group 2 Mares SW+P

Frida Kahlo lived her life with one eyebrow…
And she finished it with one leg as well.
Enjoy your Saturday folks, stay safe, stay negative, GAMBLE WITHIN REASON, KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE ROAD, and remember, I’m Crazy Craig, and that’s why they call me Craaaaaazy Craig!
