Hello hello hello everyone it’s Crazy Craig TBFB, Scratchie King of Bairnsdale, and apologies for doing bugger all again, but we’re so deep in charity work at this time of year that I don’t get the chance to read the bloody form guides until Saturday morning, let alone write a bunch of crap for Mr Alfonse’s mate!
If only we had some of that money they’re going to get for selling off Rosehill so they can build some more wobbly apartment buildings… free scratchies for a couple of years!
So among many things today, it is the Ballarat Cup, Randwick has a day dedicated to the Ingham family, namely the Group 2 Ingham, in which the winner will receieve a plate of chicken tenders because it’s what Bob and Jack would’ve wanted, and of course my focus is on the Northerly Stakes, the last Group 1 of the year in Australia!
Of course, Zoumon will be Damien Oliver’s last Group 1 ride before his big farewell to riding next weekend, so before you ask the question, am I planning on becoming very sentimental and backing Ollie on a roughie…
Shit no, I’m not that deranged!
However, I will back the lone 3-year-old in the field, A Lot Of Good Men, almost named after one of Jack Nicholson’s 35 best movies, because for whatever reason 3-year-olds have a pretty decent record in the Northerly, despite some of them having nowhere near the breeding or ability of their rivals…
Case in point, A Lot Of Good Men is going up against Zaaki – You’ve got a multiple WFA Group 1 winner, albeit without a win in a while, up against a Johnny come lately claiming 7-kilos on him!
Can he win? Probably not, but he can definitely run us a place, so I say let’s order the code red and bloody back it, and if you want the truth as why I’m backing A Lot Of Good Men…
YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE TRUTH!
