Based on a series of plausible events in a regional Victorian town

Well friends, we move on to the month of May, a month that was once owned by The Temptations during the 1960s, alongside sunshine on a cloudy day, and Saturday will mark Star Wars day, although the force won’t be with us, because Emperor Palpatine wiped out the Jedi during Order 66 in 2005, after Yoda and Mace Windu objected to him removing their tax exempt status.
This weekend, outside of the 150th Kentucky Derby on Sunday morning, marks the running of the Group 1 South Australian Derby, although if they were true South Australians they’d call it The Showdown, and the other semi-important races include the Group 2 Victory Stakes and the Queensland Guineas at Eagle Farm as we edge closer to the height of the Brisbane Carnival, the Hawkesbury Gold Cup up in the northern parts of Greater Sydney, and the Sires Produce Stakes at Ascot, for the horses that were too useless to get into better 2-year-old races.
On another note, I was annoyed with the Warrnambool Carnival this year, because the only race I got to watch across the 3 days was The Brierly, and Ric McIntosh wasn’t hoarse by the end of it.
I also didn’t even get to see the 800 times the Clerk of the Course came on the track to wrangle a stray horse.
Disappointing.
So it’s on to Crazy Craig, and what a magical run this is, as he’s gone from dropping $20 notes in the street, to $50 notes, and now with the winner from last week he’s been dropping $100 notes for the last fortnight, so he tells me…
How appropriate that the winner last week was called Extremely Lucky, because he started out by playing Lucky Lips, and now he’s got a GOOD LUCK CHARM!
P(r)ick No.1: Hollywood North (No.6, Barrier 8) E/W in Race 4 at Eagle Farm (BR4), 1:13pm AEST
1400m BM85 Handicap
Trainer: Stuart Kendrick, Jockey: Bailey Wheeler (a2), 58kg
Hello hello everybody it’s Craaaaaazy Craig, TBFB, Scratchie King of Bairnsdale, pulling winners out of my arse every week… still, I’ve got no idea where these value winners keep coming from, but it goes to show you knackers, that even blind squirrels find a nut every now and then!
Anyway, I’m just going along for the ride with the rest of ‘youse’ until I run out of winners, which for all I know could be this weekend, because I’m always one flinch away from disaster!
Anyway, that winner was last weekend and this is now, and I’ll start off this weekend with a pick from Eagle Farm, where I haven’t set foot since I had a meeting with some bats in 1994, and I’ll use my value pick on something that sounds like a Bob Seger song!
And that Hollywood North
In those Hollywood hills
He was looking so right
In his diamonds and frills
All those big city nights
In those high rolling hills
Above all the lights
He had all of the skills
P(r)ick No.2: Spirit of Camelot (No.10, Barrier 4) in Race 6 at Morphetville (AR6), 2:47pm ACST
1600m Listed Adelaide Guineas
Trainer: Michael Hickmott, Jockey: Jamie Kah, 55.5kg
Knights, I bid you welcome to your new Crazy Craig selection.
Let us ride, to SPIRIT OF CAMELOT!
On second thought, let’s not back Spirit of Camelot.
‘Tis a silly horse.

P(r)ick No.3: Flower in the Wind (No.1, Barrier 2) in Race 8 at Ascot (PR8), 4pm AWST
2200m 66+ Rating Handicap
Trainer: Neville Parnham, Jockey: Steven Parnham, 60kg
It may surprise you knackers, but I cannot be bothered picking in Sydney or Melbourne this weekend, so we’ll go straight to Ascot, which is in Belmont, and just seeing a horse in Race 8 reminds me of that great song by Elton John…
Flower In The Wind!
And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a Flower In The Wind
Never knowing who to cling to
When the rain set in
And I would have liked to known you
But I was just a kid
Your candle burned out long before
Your legend ever did
Enjoy your weekend folks, stay safe, stay negative, KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE ROAD, and remember, I’m Crazy Craig, and that’s why they call me Craaaaaazy Craig!
