Alright friends, just one week to go until the last Group 1 of season 2024-25, and this weekend is just about the most boring weekend of the Winter Carnivals as we move out to the outer extremities of the cities, starting with the Ipswich Cup in Pauline Hanson country, the Civic Stakes at Randwick, some races named after country people at Flemington, and at Pinjarra we have something called the Group 3 Strickland Stakes, named after Buck Strickland, the owner of Strickland Propane in Arlen, Texas.

So it’s on to Crazy Craig. and what an amazing watch I had on Saturday afternoon as big Swervin’ Mervyn HUGHES came down the outside to win Race 9 at Sandown…. I think that’s now two weeks in a row with a winner for Crazy Craig, and both times it’s the horse I least suspected!
