Crazy Craig’s Picks of the Day: 15th November

Once upon a time, the CF Orr Stakes was the first Group 1 of the calendar year in Victoria.

Now it’s the last.

P(r)ick No.1: Grand Prairie (No.1, Barrier 2) in Race 7 at Newcastle (SR7), 4:05pm AEDT

1600m 3YO Group 3 Spring Stakes

Trainer: Peter Snowden, Jockey: Tom Sherry, 56.5kg

Hello hello friends it’s Crazy Craig TBFB, Scratchie King of Bairnsdale, and did you know that above all else, today is DUNKELD CUP day, the day for one of the great picturesque tracks in Australia!

Bloody brilliant, imagine having to come home via the Grampians to get a winner…

It’s either that or going to Mount Disappointment.

Anyway, stuff Dunkeld, because today I’m taking a blast back to the wild age of 1970s television with a horse at Newcastle, who has the formlines on this lot of shitkickers in the coalfields, especially at the set weights, and I can just see them running through that high grass field as Tommy Sherry bolts away from the field…

LITTLE HOUSE ON THE GRAND PRARIRE.

To be ridden by one MICHAEL LANDON!

C.F. Orr Stakes (MR8) Pick: Angel Capital (No.5)

The Hunter Pick: Something I’m not known for… Clear Thinking (No.16)

Enjoy your Saturday folks, STAY DRY, stay safe, stay negative, KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE ROAD, and remember, I’m Crazy Craig, and that’s why they call me Craaaaaazy Craig!
