Here’s a forgotten piece of David ‘Bumble’ Lloyd commentary to mark his retirement

With the earth shattering news from Tuesday that Bumble is hanging up his Sky Sports microphone after 22 years, I wanted to bring this forgotten gem from the 2009 Ashes Series back into the light…

For context, South Australian wicketkeeper Graham Manou played his only career Test match for Australia in the 3rd Test at Edgbaston, after Brad Haddin fractured his finger in the warm-up.

That gave Bumble more than enough time to spontaneously spin the surname ‘Manou’ into a familiar Muppets song:

Still, the best part of that whole exchange is the 15 seconds of (Intentional) awkward silence after Bumble finished singing, followed by Michael Atherton chiming in with his comment referring to Bumble being put in an asylum.
