Crazy Craig’s Picks of the Day Review: 7th May

This just in, it appears Crazy Craig donated a few scratchies to a down on their luck punter at the Waterford TAB:

The man’s a lunatic.

So that’s another Saturday of racing done, and to the surprise of nobody, Zaaki won yet another Hollindale Stakes on the Gold Coast, as Ayrton hit the wall in the wet:

And in a minor upset, as you’ll see below, Snapdancer laughed from barrier to post and won the Robert Sangster to send Ethan Brown into the Group 1 winners club after years of trying, while at the same time, Brooklyn Hustle was smashed in betting for the 800th time, and for the 799th time, she was an utter disappointment.

For goodness sake, give it a rest you sickos…. You may as well donate money to people who actually need it, like the North Melbourne Football Club.

So in watching today’s racing, I noticed that Crazy Craig’s Pick results in chronological order all increased by 1 position each time – His first pick that ran (It’sourtime) finished 4th, his second pick (Salateen) was 3rd, and the last pick to run (Away Game) finished 2nd…

Which means that by process of elimination, if he’d chosen a fourth pick, it would’ve won.

But, the Value Pick did run a big 2nd at $2.75 the place, which means WE HAVE GOT A COLLECT, SO I’M BLASTING OUT THE VICTORY TUNE:

Ah, that very familiar feeling of Crazy Craig’s Value Pick running 2nd.

Pick of the Day: Salateen in Race 9 at the Gold Coast = 3rd ($1.40p)

1st Up on a Heavy 9 is not usually a recipe for success, and that was exactly the case on the Gold Coast, and to be honest I think this pick was made by Crazy Craig on the basis that the track might be a Soft by the end of the day…

Which ended up being the exact opposite because the track was an absolute quagmire that the true mudlarks absolutely loved, so Soxagon, who had never placed on a Heavy, proceeded to win by 20 lengths from Last Chance, and about 20 minutes behind the winner, Salateen snuck into 3rd place ahead of Shooting For Gold.

Wait a minute, that means there was one thing we predicted that came true…

Salateen beat home Shooting For Gold!

Value Pick of the Day: Away Game in the Robert Sangster Stakes at Morphetville = 2nd ($2.75p)

This year’s Bob Sangster saw yet another Maher-Eustace quinella in an Adelaide Group 1, after they quinella’d the SA Derby last year with Explosive Jack and Let’s Karaka Deel, and it was pretty much a textbook leader’s race….

Ping the lid, sit on speed and rail like greyhounds, which Snapdancer and Away Game did to devastating effect, while the other live hopes like Brooklyn Hustle and September Run had to be ridden for luck, which they did get for the most part, but the Maher-Eustace pair were too good on the day and didn’t give anything else a chance.

So another great run by the Value Pick, beaten by all bar the winner, I think that’s now 5 times since March that Crazy Craig’s Value Pick has run 2nd…. Absolutely superb Return on Investment if you’re backing them all for a place!

Random Gough Whitlam Pick: It’sourtime in Race 5 at Caulfield = 4th

Butchered the start and was never a winning hope from there – Just like his inspiration, It’sourtime has been Dismissed.
