The horse with one of the more unpleasant owners in racing wins the Stradbroke
What a fascinating horse Alligator Blood is:
– Convicted of having a prohibited substance in his system (2020 Magic Millions 3YO Guineas), making him the Justin Gatlin of racehorses
– Formerly trained by David Vandyke, a reformed former heroin addict who then got shafted by the horse’s ownership after The Gator went 18 months without a win following the 2020 Australian Guineas, enduring a forgettable stint with Billy Healy before ending with Gai Waterhouse in January, and as we all know Gai hasn’t had any clue where she is for the last 5 years.
– One owner has a dying wife
– The managing owner is a human being who was declared bankrupt and continues to use every legal loophole possible to avoid paying several million dollars in debts he owes, so much so that Racing NSW attempted to disqualify him as an owner in March of this year
But yeah, other than that, Alligator Blood is a pretty good equine specimen.
Of course, speaking of pretty good equine specimens, Crazy Craig somehow found 2 OF THEM today, the first time in a long time he’s found 2 wins out of 3 on a Saturday – Not just Value Picks that got up, but WINNERS, genuine WINNERS….
WHICH MEANS IT’S TIME TO SOUND THE VICTORY TUNE!
And with a special encore to celebrate the double delight, here’s Meatloaf!
Ah, isn’t it good to see Crazy Craig’s Pick of the Day actually go on to run and win like a Pick of the Day…
It’s only happened about 5 times in the last 6 months, but 60% of the time, it works every time.
Pick of the Day: Dragonstone in Race 7 (Bob Charley Stakes) at Randwick = WINNER ($3.10w/1.38p)
That’s amazing – That race quite literally panned out EXACTLY like everyone thought it would…
The leaders go hard in front, and Dragonstone sits off the speed and just craps it in down the outside.
If only every punting on race was that easy.
Dermott Brereton Pick: Brereton E/W in the J.J. Atkins at Eagle Farm = 11th out of 17
The Winter of the Wizard continues in Queensland as Pikey steers Sheeza Belter to the JJ Atkins, and I can’t be bothered talking about Brereton because he was probably in the midfield stomping on someone’s head.
IN PLAIN OLD AUSSIE ENGLISH….
BRERETON IS A HOOOOOOOOD.
Random Ray Charles Pick: It’sarayday in Race 7 at Belmont = WINNER ($3.10/$1.34p)

ANOTHER MUSICAL OMEN BET GETS UP – A HORSE NAMED RAY WINS THE DAY AFTER THE ANNIVERSARY OF RAY CHARLES’ DEATH.
You know what, I’m so excited I think we need a bit of Ray right now!
I think next week we might be seeing a Paul McCartney Omen Bet next week, considering it’s his 80th birthday next Saturday…
Jojo Was A Man (aka Get Back) would’ve been a perfect choice if he hadn’t run and won today at Randwick.
