The emotional Sunday afternoon journey of Carlton, as told by Homer Simpson

Hawthorn lead at Quarter Time against the Bulldogs in Launceston:

The Bulldogs take the lead in the 2nd Quarter, dominate the rest of the game and win comfortably, meaning Carlton have to win or draw against Collingwood in the Clash of the Century at the MCG:

The Blues are held to 2 goals in the opening half and Collingwood lead by 19 points at 1/2 time:

The Blues kick 8 goals to 2 in the 3rd Quarter and lead by 24 points at the final change.

The Blues miss a couple of shots early on, then the Magpies kick a couple of goals in the last quarter to give themselves a sniff:

Carlton make it 6 behinds for the quarter, Jamie Elliott takes a speckie & goals, Beau McReery kicks a superb goal from 45 out on the boundary line to make it a 5-point game:

Jamie Elliott puts Collingwood up by 1 point with 2 minutes to go, dropping Carlton to 9th:

The Blues waste their last forays Inside 50, Patrick Cripps gets caught holding the ball with 35 seconds left, and Collingwood come from 25 points down to win by a bee’s dick, their 11th win by under 12 points in 2022.

And Carlton, after being 8-2 through 10 games and inside the Top 8 for every round of this season, finish 9th by 0.6% after leading by a point with 11 seconds remaining last week before Kosi Pickett happened, and losing by 1 point against their eternal rivals when a draw was enough to finish 8th.
