Based on a series of plausible events in a regional Victorian town

Another bone-rattling Saturday as we get ever closer to the return of Group 1 racing, with this weekend featuring the Group 2 Missile Stakes at Randwick, in amidst a load of BM78 races, the Caulfield Heath track gets an extremely rare Saturday appearance with Moonee Valley being rebuilt, hosting the Travis Harrison Cup which is traditionally held at The Valley, Morphetville hosts the Group 3 Behemoth Stakes, Townsville Cup fever has gripped Queensland as sport in the area has been restored by the Cowboys winning on Thursday night after giving up 82 points the week prior, the Casino Cup has gripped the Northern Rivers, and Belmont hosts the listed Belmont Newmarket…
And there’s also a support race named in honour of Angus Armanasco, and of course there is the well-known Group 2 Angus Armanasco Stakes at Caulfield run in February, in honour of Angus’ Hall of Fame career as a trainer, but not many know Armanasco was a champion jockey in Perth during the 1930s and started his training career in Perth, during which he won the Railway Stakes, then relocated to Melbourne and won 7 Victorian trainers premierships, a Cox Plate (Star Affair in 1965), and was one of the greatest 2-year-old trainers Australia has ever seen, winning 3 Blue Diamond Stakes and the 1981 Golden Slipper.
So it’s on to Crazy Craig, and to spoil your Saturday morning, here’s a heavy dose of Cliff Richard!
