Crazy Craig’s Tip of the Day Review: 30th January

Great House in Race 4 Rosehill – WINNER

As broadcast by Sky Racing

AND THE GREAT MAN, COMPLETES THE GREAT TRILOGY OF THE TURF!

I tell you, it’s those Lucky Lips!

Ah, I still can’t stop laughing – After going cold for months on end, and with people questioning JT’s Sporting Reviews if Crazy Craig was only crazy by name, Great House fair dinkum shat it in at Rosehill and made the dream of a Lucky Lips hat-trick of winning tips a reality.

Fabergino was class, Mosh Music winning last week for the back to back was remarkable, given she looked to have Buckley’s in the run, but seeing Great House come from 2nd last and flash fry that BM78 field in the final 300m was just perfect.

I sat down with Mr Alfonse at the TAB after we were done laughing at what happened, and we worked out that if you took a $20 all-up on all 3 of the tips (Based on their fixed starting odds) over the last 3 weeks:

Fabergino at $3.50 (20x 3.5=70)

Mosh Music at $6.50 (70x 6.5=455)

And Great House at $2.90…. (455x 2.9)

You’d get a return of $1,319.50.

In Crazy Craig terms, that’s 26 $50 notes you can leave on the street for people to find, and/or at least 131 $10 scratchies to buy at the newsagent to give to someone who walks in and looks down on their luck, and/or a nice necklace from the jewellers to wrap up and give away to the next person who looks like they need help buying something nice.

Anyway, as for the actual run, I will admit I was somewhat nervous seeing Great House still running in 2nd last at the turn when Vadiyann broke away in the lead, but Tommy Berry always seemed to have the ex-Coolmore horse running nicely, and the moment Vadiyann fell in a hole the size of Adelaide at the 300m, Great House simultaneously seized the lead and burned off My Demetra on his outside, and that Galileo bloodline shone through as he put at least 4 lengths on his rivals, and really could’ve won by that much had Berry not put him away at the 50m, with the final margin officially 2.8L to Harpo Marx, who was also sired by Galileo.

Of all the inane things Craig wrote yesterday, this may have been the most accurate:

I haven’t even looked at the other horses, but they’re probably all camels with hearts as big as peas, so go GREAT HOUSE – My LUCKY LIPS PICK OF THE DAY.

And just to confirm it, this was the margin on the line:

He really did make them look like a pack of Clan O’Sullivans, and I think we might see Great House earn a shot at a black type staying race at some point in the coming months.

Anyway, well done to everyone who got on board, and remember, that’s why we call him CRAAAAAAAZY CRAIG!
