Anyway, with the Slipper gone, all discerning eyes were watching The Wizard from the West drop a hot log on Victoria’s finest out at Mornington, and after that crushing win in the William Reid with Masked Crusader on Friday night, William Pike won the Mornington Guineas with Dom To Shoot, the Cup with Mount Popa (We’ll see him at Caulfield in October), and he served an ace in the Hareeba Stakes with Laverrod to win the first 3 legs of the Quaddie.

Of course, Pikey couldn’t quite ride the quaddie after Imperial Lad was run down by Flandersrain in the last:

Who just had to run on from the back to miss the placings by a bloody half length.

Oh for god’s sake, WHY DID IT HAVE TO BE A BLOODY MILE RACE, WYCLIF WAS FLYING HOME OVER THE FINAL FURLONG.

I CAN ACCEPT THAT HE WAS NEVER GOING TO WIN, BUT ANOTHER 50M AND HE FINISHES 3RD COMFORTABLY…..

AND THAT WAS AFTER BEING STUCK IN A HOLE THE SIZE OF MORNINGTON ON THE TURN.

Now, other than that, I was pretty pleased with the way Wyclif hit the line, obviously it could’ve gone a bit better, and I think it’s high time Danny O’Brien sent him out to 2400m.

Regardless, Crazy Colin, your appearance next week will be determined by what the voices in Crazy Craig’s head tell him to do with his landline.

Will they tell him to plug it back in and rejoin the world, or will they tell him to tell everyone to piss off.
