The Sydney Thunder haven’t just smashed a world record, they’ve absolutely shat it in

NOT JUST THE LOWEST SCORE IN THE HISTORY OF THE BIG BASH, SMASHING THE OLD RECORD BY 42 RUNS…

IT IS THE LOWEST SCORE IN THE HISTORY OF PROFESSIONAL TWENTY 20 CRICKET, AND QUITE POSSIBLY THE LOWEST SCORE IN THE HISTORY OF PROFESSIONAL LIMITED OVERS CRICKET.

ALL OUT FOR 15.

That may be one of the most unbreakable world records in the history of organised sport, surpassing Don Bradman’s 99.94 average, and Cal Ripken Jr’s Ironman streak of 2,632 consecutive games.

Further to it:

8 balls resulted in runs.

10 balls resulted in wickets.

The highest score was No.10 Brendan Doggett hitting a 4 from a French Cut, which earned him a standing ovation.

The second-highest scorer was Extras with a tidy knock of 3.

The entire innings can fit into a tweet, joining the 1st Innings of Trent Bridge in 2015 with that dubious honour.

The Thunder at one stage were 6-9, which is coincidentally the position the Strikers had them in for all 6 overs.

Someone get on to Paul Hardcastle, we need a re-recording of 19.

Call it 15.

“In 2022, the Strikers vs Thunder seemed like just another Big Bash game.”

“But it wasn’t, it was different in many ways, and so were those who did the bowling.”

“In 2015, the lowest Big Bash total score was 57… in 2022, it was FIFTEEN, in 2022 it was FIFTEEN.”
