The draw was released this afternoon, and I found out I’m off to the great remote outpost of Perth known as Cockburn, which is about 5 minutes down the road from where I work at Jandakot:

Section 46, aka the Valentino Rossi section, and if you include both the Men’s & Women’s State singles, there’ll be 4 Manning players at Cockburn for the Sectional; J.E.Titheradge, the Donnybrook firefighter Mitch Walker, and in the Women’s we have defending champion Hailey Packer, and Manning Mixed Pairs champion Karina Gale.

You know why I’m happy to be playing at Cockburn?

Because it’s the closest I’ve ever been to Success.

As always, I think you have to take the Watchmen mindset into major competitions when you’re playing blokes at least 4 leagues above you, as most of the Australian players in the Australian Open would agree….
