Almost a year to the day….

After last week’s horrific display of brutality against the punting population of Australia, I’m doing what any sane idiot would do, and that’s hopping straight back on the horse to restore my own self-confidence that I can indeed back a winner, which I somehow did twice this week before I got over to Sydney to visit Mum’s family.
How did I get from Perth to Sydney you ask?
Well, a plane – it’s quicker.
FOR THE RECORD – If I was to pick an absolute Most Likely To Win Of The Day, I’d take Bivouac in the Canterbury Stakes, because he is a Group 1 winner at the 1300m, and with Randwick being a Good 4, if he’s still as good as Darley like to advertise him, he’ll drop a Cleveland Steamer on that lot.
So on that note about crap, enough of mine, here’s the Boy From Bairnsdale with his Lucky Lips Tip!
Fifty Stars (No.3, Barrier 3) in the Australian Cup at Flemington, 4:45pm AEDT
2000m WFA Group 1
Trainers: Tom Dabernig & Ben Hayes, Jockey: John Allen, 59kg
Hello hello hello folks, it’s Craaaaaazy Craig the Boy From Bairnsdale, and as far as I’m concerned, last week DIDN’T HAPPEN!
DID. NOT. HAPPEN.
Why?
Because me tell you what, it’s absolute BULLSHIT that a 300/1 shot can win a Group 1, BUT, that’s why they call it racing, and so on we go!
Yessss as many of you would know, it’s the long weekend here in the once great state of Victoria, and the last weekend of Group 1 racing here until the Spring, which means it’s time for the timeless Newmarket Handicap and the Australian Cup!
Did you knackers know that there only two races at Flemington that can have 24 runners – The Melbourne Cup is one, and the Newmarket Handicap is the other, although they barely cracked 18 runners this year!
Anyway, I’m looking at the Australian Cup this year, and to tell you my pick, here’s a Crazy Craig Classic:
And Iiiiiii, wanna fall from Fifty Stars, straight into your arms!
Yes, it’s not exactly astute punting, but I’m thinking that the Hayes boys are going to win yet another Australian Cup, and that Fifty Stars is going to join the great horses like Vo Rogue and Harlem as BACK TO BACK winners of the race!
He came via the Blamey to win the Cup 3rd Up last year, and he hit the line hard in the Blamey 2nd Up last week, ultimately running 2nd to Sea The Stars, in a run that suggested “I Am Ready To Win AGAIN!”
And who among this lot of FRAUDS is there to stop Fifty Stars from twinkling again on Saturday night; Parade = Who?, Defibrilate = Named as such because he’s got a HEART AS BIG AS A PEA, Shared Ambition = NO AMBITIONS, and Nonconformist = CAMEL.
So there you are kids, enjoy your Saturday, as Fifty Stars is my PICK OF THE DAY.
I’m Crazy Craig, and that’s why they call me Craaaaaazy Craig!
Well, I did say he was Crazy.
