Crazy Colin’s Picks of the Day Review: 3rd July

Grand Promenade winning with four legs in the air

Well Saturday is done, and as is par for the course, I successfully talked myself out of at least 2 stakes that would’ve gone on to win, the most annoying of which was Papal Warrior at Rosehill, who I should’ve backed after noticing that profound intellectual Brad Gray made him his Best of the Day, but I was too hesitant to do so.

Still, at least I didn’t back Dice Roll again….

$1.80 in the opening leg of the Flemington quaddie, controlled the race all the way to the corner, and it had a heart as big as a pea.

Each-Way Pick of the Day: Double Chance in Race 6 at Flemington – 5th

Well, to say I’m disappointed would be putting it mildly, because Double Chance travelled with the winner Foxy Frida in transit, but when the whips started cracking, the Foxey lady stuck to the rail and Billy Egan was good enough to find the gaps, while Double Chance was somewhat forced to stay out wide, but she just never gave a yelp until the quinella pairing were off and gone.

Worked home well to finish a respectable 5th, which does absolutely nothing positive for me.

P(r)ick of the Day: I’m Pretty in Race 9 at Belmont – Heart as big as a frikkin’ pea, BECAUSE SHE FINISHED LAST

I’m Pretty, more like Horrifically Ugly.

Absolutely piss poor performance to not even beat a runner home after sitting off the leaders, and there was absolutely nothing in the stewards’ report to offer an excuse, which would suggest to me that I’m Pretty has a heart as big as a pea.

BLOODY TERRIBLE.
